Indonesia and Bali: understand the e-VOA.

The period for using an issued e-VOA is easy to confuse with the period you may actually remain after entry.

In brief

Indonesia’s immigration authority describes an e-VOA stay of 30 days from entry, with one possible extension for another 30 days. Check your current approval.

Validity is not permitted stay

The period in which an issued e-VOA may be used to enter is not automatically the time you may remain after entering.

Record the actual entry date

The stay period begins with entry. Record arrival, planned departure and any approved extension separately.

Do not assume an extension

Apply in good time and rely on a new departure date only after the extension has been approved.

Check before travelling

  • Is your passport eligible for an e-VOA?
  • When did you actually enter?
  • What permitted period appears on your entry record?
  • Has an extension already been approved?
